Hermione Jean Granger
7th Year // Gryffindor
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Appearance: Hermione has bushy, brown hair. When she was in her first years at Hogwarts, Hermione cared little about how her hair looked. She did almost nothing to it aside from brushing down the frizziness, and even that didn't work. Now, however, and in recent years, Hermione has taken better care of her appearance, especially her busy hair. It is much easier to brush through, and Hermione is now able to make her waves curl. The thickness of her hair is no longer a hastle, for she can pull it back in a few different styles, such as a ponytail. Also, with a few extra minutes in the morning, Hermione can keep her hair from frizzing.
Hermione's brown eyes are fairly common, lacking any real uniqueness, though beautiful all the same. Until a spell went wrong, Hermione's front teeth were overly large. Not by much, but enough for her to notice them. And although she was a witch, her parents, who are dentists, would not let Hermione use magic to fix them. However, during one of her first few years in Hogwarts, a spell that had gone wrong sent Hermione to the Hospital Wing, where, to reverse the spell, she allowed Madam Pomfrey to shrink them to normal size.
Hermione stands around 5'5. She is not too short, but when standing beside Ron or his twin brothers, she does look fairly short. Standing next to Harry is different, for his height is close to hers. She is a thin girl, though not so thin that she looks unhealthy. She weighs around 108 pounds.
Hermione, in her earlier years at Hogwarts, tended to wear her school robes most of the time. However, when she began her third year, Hermione started wearing muggle clothes more often. Well, they cannot be labeled as Muggle clothes exactly, rather, they were clothes normal teenagers wore. Hermione still doesn't wear much make-up, though more than she did before.
Personality: Hermione is a very hardworking person. She does her best in school, and is considered "the brightest witch of her age." She spends hours reading books. One of her favorite things to do is read, and all the knowledge she has gained from reading so much has proved useful in times where her friends need her. She has a hard time believing in something that does not have facts to support it, however Ron and Harry have slowly changed that about her, though not completely. She is still the know-it-all that she was in her first year, only slightly less bossy.
Being part of a Muggle family, Hermione has done her best to prove herself just as capable as any other witch. She does not take kindly to the word ‘Mudblood’, she is very sensitive concerning her being a Muggleborn. Hermione had, years ago, been hurt to be called that, however now, though she is still offended by the name, does not let others get the better of her. Hermione can easily come across as pushy and bossy upon first meeting her, however underneath her assertive exterior, she is a kind girl. She cares about her friends immensely, and doesn’t let others talk badly about them. She is a very strong-willed, determined, brave girl.
She is also a great friend. Her best friends are Harry and Ron, but she is also good friends with Ginny, Ron's younger sister, Lavender Brown, and quite a few others. Hermione does whatever she can to help others that need her help, like Neville in school and House Elves (though, according to Hermione, they don't realize that they need her help). She is a kind girl who doesn't let others push her or her friends around. Her temper rises easily, and can often be found arguing with someone, especially Slytherins. She gets angry easily, and tends to take it out on her two best friends. And, since they're guys, they have a hard time understanding her and why certain things upset her, and their cluelessness, at times, upsets her even more.
History: Hermione was born on September 19, 1979, to Muggle parents. Her parents were both dentists. She was an only child. Though Hermione was a witch, and her parents approved of her being a witch, they did not allow her to fix her problems at home with magic. For example, they did not allow her to have her overly large front teeth fixed with magical help, but instead with muggle objects, such as braces. Before her teeth were able to be fixed with braces though, they were fixed at school, because of a spell that had gone wrong.
Hermione's first year at Hogwarts did not go as smoothly as it had for others. She befriended students, particularly Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The three of them had quite an interesting first year. She was attacked by a troll in the girl's bathroom on Halloween, but was rescued by Ron and Harry. The three of them also searched for the Sorcerer's Stone, facing many obstacles during their adventure.
In her second year, Hermione drank polyjuice potion and partially turned into a cat. Later, Hermione was petrified by a Basalisk. With the information she had managed to collect on Basalisks before she was petrified, Hermione was able to help Harry and Ron learn what they needed to know to protect themselves from the Basalisk's fatal glare. The summer after her second year she went on vacation to France with her parents. She also bought a cat, Crookshanks, just before school started again.
Hermione was given a time-turner from McGonogall in her third year, to be able to attend all of her classes. She and Harry used this time-turner to save Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, and Buckbeak. In her fourth year, the TriWizard Tournament was held at Hogwarts. Students from other schools came to Hogwarts, and Hermione had a 'temporary relationship' with Victor Krum, a student at Drumstrang.
In her fifth year, Hermione became prefect. She and other members of the DA traveled to the Ministry of Magic to fight Deatheaters alongside members of the Order. In her sixth year, Hermione was one of the few students who was invited to Slughorn's club meetings. Though she and Ron promised to join Harry in his search for the final Horcruxes, the trio did not find the Horcruxes before the beginning of school.
Likes: her friends, studying, getting good grades, her family, meeting others (who aren't rude like Slytherins)
Dislikes: Draco Malfoy, Slytherins, failing, breaking rules, and Deatheaters
Family: Muggle parents (dentists)

The Library. It wasn't one of Jordan's favorite places in Hogwarts, nor was it one of her least favorites. To her, it was just, there. She enjoyed reading, but books she wanted to read, not the ones she was forced to read by professors. Though she may have read the books on her own time, the books she was assigned to read weren't interesting to Jordan. Maybe it was because she had no choice but to read them. Jordan could choose not to read those books, but since she was a good student, or a decent student, she did what was expected. Not to the best of her ability, though. Many times, she skimmed through books that she didn't want to read, or not even read them at all. This didn't help when it came time to do work assigned in class, but Jordan managed to do well enough to pass.
Jordan didn't really enjoy the atmosphere of a Library. Or, at least not the Library at Hogwarts. It wasn't bad, exactly, and she didn't dislike it, she just felt that there were so many other places within the large school that were, well, better than the Library. It was quiet, something that Jordan was not. There was only so much silence a person could handle, and the Library was always silent. That is, of course, when everyone followed the rules. There were occasions during which students got out of hand, or just cracked. There were some young first and second years, and even third years, who had yet to experience the unfortunate feeling of being swallowed by the silence. It drove Jordan insane, and she had no doubt that there were dozens of other students who felt the same way. There weren't too many students above the age of 14 that littered the aisles of the Library, probably due to the uncomfortable silence that threatened to cut their last shards of sanity.
On this particular day, Jordan's excuse for entering the Library was to grab a book for Potions and leave as quickly as possible. She had an essay to write, and of course, she hadn't been paying attention in class. So, when the essay had been assigned, Jordan had sighed heavily under her breath. The chances of such a large assignment had been slim, and Jordan had figured that she would have a short break between long, time-consuming assignments. But no. An essay of at least four pages was due in three days. Four pages wasn't too bad, for someone who hadn't done their History of Magic homework in Potions. So, she had resorted to the Library to try to teach herself the lesson.
If it had been someone from any other house, Jordan may not have been surprised. But he was a Slytherin, and a fairly stupid Slytherin at that. Maybe not stupid, but within her seven years at Hogwarts, Jordan had not seen him possess any shred of intelligence. She looked at Goyle curiously. Whether he was intelligent or not, she had never before seen him in the Library. Could he even read? Jordan doubted it. Maybe he didn't even know where he was. He was one of the two goons who constantly followed Malfoy around the school. She didn't think he had anything better to do than follow the greasy haired, pale boy around, but she did her best to avoid interacting with Slytherins. However, this Slytherin being in the Library made Jordan curious.
