General Appearance: Golden, long strands of hair fall gracefully around the face of Marie Annabella Channing. Her long locks are usually turned into lenghty curls, waves, or kept straight for her own reasons. On school days, Marie likes to keep her hair up in either a ponytail or a messy bun. At five foot seven, she sometimes gives off an intimidating look to younger students, but Marie is very gentle and sweet. She has soft and dark brown eyes that have a slight glimmer to them when she's extremely happy. Marie is very thin, weighing only 115 lbs. Marie's skin is rather fair despite how much time she spends outside.
Marie almost always wears muggle clothing, considering that her mother is a muggle. She normally likes to wear skinny jeans and any top that she can dig out of her trunk that's clean. Throughout the whole school year, Marie can be seen wearing her black hooded jacket no matter what season it is. She always likes to add a bit of style to her uniform such as not tightening her tie completely, wearing cute and colorful jewelry that is "loud," wearing interesting shoes and colors, scarves, and anything else she can add. To herself, Marie believes she is the most fashionable person in the school, excluding a few people.
Strengths: Marie is really ontop of wand work. She knows almost every spell, curse, hex, and jinx in the books, not to forget their opposites. Besides wand work, Marie is really great with animals. She knows a lot of species by heart and loads of information about them. Marie's greatest strength, however, lies in the heart of quidditch. No matter how much she may seem to hate getting dirty, Marie really loves flying and getting competitive.
Weaknesses: Marie is really weak when it comes to transfigurations. Most of the time, she has absolutely no idea of what she's doing to her assignments and tends to mess them up completely. Also, she can't contain herself when she's around the guy she really likes, Justin. She's known him since her first year and has kept her eyes on him, however she gets weak at the knees upon hearing his voice and name.
Interests && Hobbies: Marie's interests are animals, charms, and quidditch. Besides school topics, Marie is interested in the fashion industry in the muggle world.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Something Unique About Your Character: Marie can speak three different languages which includes French as her native tongue, English, and Spanish.
Personality: Marie Annabella Channing is a known girl among the students at school. Marie is not picky when it comes to friends. She could take the shyest of people and bring out the outgoing personality in them. Marie is very picky about what she looks like. On most days she gets up at around five forty-five just to make sure she has at least ten minutes in the shower, fifteen minutes to pick out an outfit, thirty minutes to get ready and at least twenty minutes on her hair. Marie is a morning person, well actually she's an all-day type of person.
She tends to be full of energy and ready for anything. Marie is a risk-taker and adventurous. She'll do whatever she's never tried and if she likes it she'll continue with it, and if she doesn't at least she knows she's tried it. From what other people have said, Marie is a very sweet and caring person. She loves helping out and always is a very responsible person. But besides that, no one has seen the real side of Marie. She hates when she's laughed at when she does something wrong because it always makes her feel bad. Whenever someone makes a decision for her, it throws her off and causes her to have a bad temper because she wants to make her own decisions for herself, not being commanded to do this and that.
Marie can be a handful sometimes, but isn't that how a lot of teenage girls are? Now, if we're talking about book smart, Marie is lacking a bit in that area. She's quite good in most of her classes, though not on top. She gets mostly E's and A's in all her classes besides Care of Magical Creatures, and Charms. When she studies, she spends more time thinking over her day and mistakes rather than focusing completely. During homework, she tends to fool around or chat most of the time with her friends. But, no matter how little the amount of attention she gives to her work, she at least finishes it completely and makes sure that is completed before she goes off and does something else.
She is completely against drinking, drugs, or any other types of things that do harm to her body. She is a very loyal friend and is loved by her friends.
Family:
Kristale [Elgrichi] Channing(Mother)
Carson Daniels Durand(Father)
Lena Grondelle (Aunt)
David Grondelle (Uncle)
Gina Durand (Grandmother)
Character History: Marie Annabella was born May 19th in London, England. Her mother Kristale and her father Carson raised their young Marie to become what they thought would be a normal, regular child. Marie wasn't surprised by her father. He never came home until one in the morning. He was always off doing his own things. Marie and her father never had the close bond she and her mother shared. But as much as she loved her mother, Kristale was hardly at home those days. Constantly working as a teacher. Marie was always stuck at home with her grandmother. She found it rather odd the things she usually came upon in that strange house of hers. Often, she found strange things like old textbooks about potions and witchcraft.
Marie had always laughed at the witchcraft books that her father owned. She thought it was fake and a waste of time. Marie had always spent her time with her friends at the local park either playing or at her house doing something girly like tea parties and such. She had never really had weird experience. When she was eight she finally decided it was time to ask her father what the books were about and why he was never home until one in the morning.
Marie was sat down in the extremely large family room on her favorite red couch. She remembered every word from her father's mouth. You are a witch. Marie's eyes had widened at that moment, but only for a few moments. He had explained his occupation at the so called "ministry of magic." There were many things she had yet to learn. Apparently, her father had been in a special school for wizards and witches called Hogwarts. Marie had always found the name rather odd. She was still a bit shocked, but needed time to think about this.
For about two days all she did was lock herself in her room and think. She was afraid of being a witch. She didn't want to be bad like those "death doers" or whatever they were called. (Yes i know it's death eaters.) She had been frightened until she had received a letter by a large, handsome owl. Upon reading the letter, Marie soon learned that she shouldn't be afraid of being a witch. It was in her blood and apparently her Grandmother had been a great witch too. It was then when young Marie had finally understood what her father meant by being a witch.
First Year. To Marie it was like living a nightmare. She had met some of the most interesting and scariest people to her. First, her teacher Hagrid had really frightened her, being almost eleven times her size. Professor Flitwick was only three inches shorter than her, and then there was that one professor that taught potions. Snape. He had frightened her on her first day when she saw him in the halls. There were things in that first year that she had enjoyed such as flying, charms class, care of magical creatures, and quidditch games. But besides all of that, there was one thing that really caught Marie's attention and it was Fred & George Weasley. Mainly George however. Now, at the time Marie's English wasn't the best and her thick accent definitely didn't help one bit. She had struggled during that year and the year after, but her third year seemed to be her best.
Although she was called weird names because she wasn't a pureblood, Marie had definitely enjoyed her time at Hogwarts. In her sixth year she had experienced her chance to be a part of the quidditch team and hopes to try out again for it.
RP sample: The courtyard was quite empty for this time of the day. It was one thing that shocked Miu a bit, but she didn't seem to mind. She wore a smile on her face as she slowly maneuvered down the steps of the courtyard. Her hair was done neatly into soft curls. She looked at her skinny jeans and her white shirt with black designs and the words "Quidditch Queen" writing across the top. She pulled her purple and blue knitted scarf tighter around her neck. It wasn't really that cold outside, but Miu had a small body and was always cold for some reason.
She chuckled as she stepped on the fallen leaves covering the ground. With each step she took, she always heard a crunching noise which made her smile. Miu stopped and shaded her eyes with her hand. Her brown pupils scanned the sky for a white and brown body hopefully flying. Once she spotted it, she placed both hands around her mouth and whistled loudly. The owl fluttered for a second before descending downwards to Miu. She grinned and gently grabbed her owl's legs to help her land correctly on her shoulder. "Hello Bernie." The white and brown barn owl hooted loudly. Bernadette was her name.
Miu noted her heart-shaped face and loved her instantly from the moment she saw her in the shop. She had been visiting Paris with her family and many of the owls were snowy owls and horned owls. She only spotted Bernadette at the very end. Apparently her owl had spent her whole life at the shop, not being able to be sold because of her unusually large size and her slow speed. Miu didn't seem to mind because she loved to bird's temperament, though most people could care less if their birds could give kisses.
Miu stroked the white head of Bernie, as she called her, while walking down the hill and approaching a large tree. She took a seat, sitting cross-legged on the grass. She looked back at the castle and let out a small sigh. Her school year had just started and she was already worried about the boy of her dreams. Miu truly knew Harry wouldn't like her because of course he had Ginny Weasley. Ginny was a great person and Miu could certainly see that she had no chance. She rested her chin in her hands and stared out, hoping someone would come and talk to her.
