Ron's attention fixed at Hermione's plea as he suddenly turned completely and looked at her with hopeful eyes. He saw her tears drop down her cheeks and it seemed he thought there were no words to really explain what she was feeling, but he didn't want to come to drastic conclusions. As he walked back slowly he looked down and up again as though carefully approaching her again. "You really don't want me to go..." he replied softly yet enough for her to listen. As he began to approach her some feet closer he felt his heart race once more, it really was a unexpected moment for him.

[ whoo! three pages! i don't think i've ever been in a thread that's three pages long, at least not on a site whose members post more than a sentence for each post ] Ron turned around completely. Hermione felt foolish for crying. She did not want him to see how upset she was. And crying certainly showed him this. However, she could not stop the tears. They were not only caused by the pain she felt from him leaving. They were now also for the happiness growing inside her from Ron turning around and listening to her. She did not want him to leave, and she was beginning to think he was going to stay there, with her. Ron approached her. Hermione had to look up to see his face, and for her eyes to meet his. She could not remember a time when she had ever stood in front of him and had to look up to see his face. This fact made her a bit pleased, though, for she did not want him to be far away. She liked him being near her. It made her feel as if he would always be there. "No," Hermione said. "I just... I..." She did not like having such trouble with words. She was not used to having no control over her emotions or over herself. She could not stop the studdering, nor could she ignore how quickly her heart was beating. It seemed to beat louder as Ron stepped closer, shrinking the gap between the two of them. Hermione tried to calm herself down, to slow her quickly beating heart, to think and talk clearly. But it was no use. She could not form words in her mind or mouth. Nor could she stop her heart from it's continuous loud beating, which was only getting louder.

OOC: This has been a good thread....I'm pretty happy about it....^_^ ___________________________________________________________
As Ron stopped what looked like some inches away he looked down toward her eyes and couldn't help but pat her cheek to dry her tears. He realized she was having a hard time coming out with any word and even though he did want to hear what she had to say his heart and mind were not in tune for a slight second and without thinking twice he lightly grabbed her cheek as he approached her and kissed her gently on the lips. He wasn't sure what was going to happen, he wasn't even scared if she ended up rejecting him at the second, but at that moment all he felt was happiness overwhelm him. His mind drifted in the thought that even if the worst were to come soon, he at least had his most desired wish completed. He didn't let go and thought what Hermione's mind was running through but for the moment he just enjoyed the sensation as his heart felt pleased.

If Hermione had thought her heart was beating fast before, it was nothing compared to now. It was thumping against her chest at a thousand beats every second, or so it felt. She half expected her heart to beat itself right out of her chest. And it was loud. She was surprised Ron couldn't hear it, because she sure could. It sounded as if a large drum was being hit over and over, continuously and very quickly. The noise, which only she could hear apparently, was all she could hear. Not the crackling of the fire, the snoring of a student sleeping in bed, nothing else besides her heart's beating.
Before her heart began thumping against her chest so loudly, Hermione had watched as Ron had closed the gap between them completely. When he had placed his hand on her cheek to wipe away her tears, she felt a slight shiver throughout her body. But not a bad shiver, a good one. As if she were so pleased he was that close, that her body reacted in the only way it knew how. The tears had now stopped, and because of Ron wiping the trails of the fallen tears off her cheeks, Hermione's face was dry. It had the odd feeling of dried tears, almost as if it tightened her skin slightly. But she did not notice this.
The last thing she had expected was for him to kiss her. She was thrilled, but she had certainly not expected this. It was uncharacteristic of Ron. But apparently, she had been judging his character wrong for the past six years. Or, maybe she had just overlooked this part of him, because she had spent so much time avoiding her feelings for him. Her eyes closed when his lips touched hers. But she did not kiss him back. She simply stood there, dumbfounded, but pleased all the same. It took her a few moments to realize what had just happened. But as she opened her eyes again, she smiled.

At once letting her go, Ron gently smiled and into her eyes as he held her in his arms. " You don't even now how nervous I've been all this time" he whispered confessing his troubled emotions. He was quite nervousness even still, but he felt as though around her everything was goign to be alright. Kissing her was sure a shock for himself as well, he never thought he had the gut to do such a thing, specially when he realized she could have easily rejected it. But seeing how everything alternatively had changed in Hogwarts and with people around him over the past year he was quite adapted to the idea of changing.

Hermione smiled back at Ron. She was able to look into his eyes without tears forming. It was the first time that had happened since they had returned to the common room. She felt relieved. While he had been on his way to his dormitory, Hermione had been worrying whether to tell him to stay or not. She had worried what his reaction would be, if he would even turn around. But he had turned around. He had kissed her. Something she had not expected. But she was glad. More than glad.
"You were nervous?" Hermione asked. Of course she knew he had been nervous, but his nervousness seemed small compared to the worry she felt. She had almost broken down in tears. He was at least capable of walking away when he thought she didn't want him there. Hermione would never have been able to stay that strong. "I was nervous." Even before this moment, this day, Hermione had been nervous. She had worried for a while what he would think if she told him how she felt about him. Now, she was relieved. More than relieved. She was thrilled. He felt the same, she no longer had to worry.

Ron was quite relieved to hear her nervousness as well, but as they settled he couldn't help but ask again. "Hold on....do you mean that your answer will be a yes?" Ron continued with a slight smirk and curious expression upon his face. It was quite an interesting experience for him whom for the first time finally felt he was with the right girl after several years.
(OOC: I'm sorry it was a bit late at night and I couldn't think of more at the time)
